Description

Founded in July 2020, Verkor is a European industrial company based in Grenoble. Backed by a strong network of financial and industrial partners, Verkor is accelerating the production of low-carbon batteries in France and Europe to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles, electric mobility in general and stationary storage in Europe. Verkor operates an industrial platform structured around two complementary sites. In Grenoble, the Verkor Innovation Centre (VIC) houses research and development activities, a 5.0 pilot line commissioned in 2023, as well as an internal training center. This site plays a central role in developing technologies, industrial processes, and skills. In Dunkirk, Verkor operates a Gigafactory with a target annual capacity of 16 GWh. The site is operational and produces battery cells and modules, leveraging the industrial processes developed in Grenoble. Commercialization of the first production is scheduled to begin in 2026.
