Nines Photovoltaics is a deep-tech company based in Ireland, that has developed a proprietary gas-phase etching technology platform, for silicon-based manufacturing. For Solar Cell manufacturing, it enables ultra-fast throughputs, water –free silicon wafer etching, and results in 50% lower manufacturing costs, 10x less power consumption, all without the use of greenhouse gases (zero GWP chemistry). Its specificities also enable advanced solar cell architectures, that are beyond the reach of traditional wet etching processes.
