GridSight® DLR is a 100% software-based Grid-Enhancing Technology (GET) that calculates real-time and forecast thermal ratings for transmission and distribution lines.
By creating a sensorless Digital Twin that integrates grid design parameters, line route geometry, and real-time SCADA weather and electrical data, it dynamically updates line capacity based on actual environmental conditions rather than static, conservative assumptions. This enables grid operators to safely unlock an average of 10–20% additional thermal capacity, reduce renewable energy curtailment, and resolve network congestion without needing expensive hardware installations or line outages.
