This year at The Business Booster, we are discussing what it will take to accomplish the next push of the energy transition. As of the last few decades, we have made progress in deploying alternative energy solutions, cleaning up the power sector away from fossil fuels. The CorPower Wave Energy Converter (WEC) can produce five times more electricity per tonne of the device (>10MWh / tonne) than any other known wave technology. It combines storm survivability with strongly amplified power capture in regular sea conditions

A robust power grid and infrastructure system enables the utilisation and distribution of clean energy. Upgrading the current outdated grid system to a modern and more flexible model is essential for incorporating renewables into our power system, and without sufficient infrastructure achieving decarbonisation on an industrial scale is not possible.

Suena, short for sustainable energy applications, is a Hamburg based 100% digital flexibility trader for large-scale battery storage. With the suena Autopilot, suena offers optimisation and trading services to maximise efficiency and reduce risks of energy storage systems on short-term electricity and balancing markets.
Silbat
Energy Storage Solutions
Silbat has developed a silicon battery that is set to transform the landscape of long duration stationary storage. The solution is based on the latent heat of metal-grade silicon and its back-conversion to electricity using thermophotovoltaics. According to MIT research, cost-effectively turning renewables into dispatchable electricity sources requires long duration storage with capital expenses of less than $20/kWh. Silbat’s battery can do it for less than $10/kWh.

Sunifix is a fossil-free and energy efficient technology for the fixation of nitrogen from the air for industrial and agricultural purposes. The process can operate from intermittent renewable energy sources. It is applicable on a large as well as on a small distributed production scale.
Ecop
Industry
Ecop has developed a new heat pump that is highly economical and energy efficient. The same appliance has a broad area of application, supplying up to 250°C heat with a temperature lift of up to 120K. It requires no lubrication and all parts are low maintenance, as they are rotating, standard and industrial. The Ecop rotation heat pump can be used simultaneously in one machine to generate heat and cold, and also serves as a flywheel accumulator. No F-gases or flammable refrigerants are used.
Pionierkraft
Residential Building
PIONIERKRAFT offers landlords and property owners’ associations an innovative solution for reducing their property’s operating costs and selling self-generated electricity directly to their tenants. Their solution does not require a tenant electricity plan, meaning the system operator is not burdened with complex obligations. A PIONIERKRAFT plant supplies each residential or commercial unit with rooftop solar power. A user-friendly portal allows for legally compliant billing.
