Bio

Franz Geyer graduated as a mechanical engineer and holds a PhD in Materials-, process- and electrical engineering from the TU University Dresden. He joined BMW AG in 2004 and currently serves as the Head of Technologies Zero Emission. He has a strong background in zero emission mobility, decarbonization, and related supply chains, with a commitment to driving political and industry initiatives in these areas. His industry leadership roles include Executive Board Member at BEPA, Industry-Chair at Batteries Europe, Board Member at e-Motive, Member of EUCAR Expert Group on Battery Technologies, Member of ACEA Working Group on Battery Applications, and Founding member of the Clean Intralogistic Netwerk (CIN) in association with the National Organization Hydrogen, Ministry of Economy, and Ministry of Transport. Throughout his career at BMW, Franz has held various roles in R&D, strategy, funding, and collaboration, focusing on electrified powertrains, zero emission mobility, and related technologies. He has also represented BMW in key industry associations, serving as the seconded BMW Chairmanship, coordination committee, finance, and legal representative at EUCAR in Brussels.
